Today, Barack Hussein Obama received the presitigious Nobel Peace Prize for "his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples."
Past recipients of the esteemed award include Mother Teresa, Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King, Jr., and Theodore Roosevelt (who, in 1906, drew up the peace treaty between Russia and Japan).
Critics, like me, say it's way, way, way "too early" for this American president to receive a Nobel Peace Prize--should he ever deserve one at all.
In contrast, his most pious supporters say this prize is proof that Obama is the next best thing to the second coming of Christ.
What's your opinion? Does President Obama truly deserve the Nobel Prize for Peace? Or is this a case of premature ejaculation by the Norwegian Nobel Committee?
